I'm afraid I was correct, you need to purchase HL2DM in order to play HL2CTF. I believe its $5 right now.

Man that is harsh. They are still giving u a game for free, why should that mean you get to play all the free mods for free too? I mean geez, someone has to make some money along the way. And considering its all of $5! i'd say that's next to giving it away for free.
