    Fan Speed Control

Im looking for a program to control my fan speed for both my CPU and GPU. CCC for my ATi card doesnt work and I cant figure out how to fix it.

Get MSI Afterburner for your GPU. That's what I use to control my 6870's fan speed. you can also control the mem and core clocks with it.

Speedfan is a program for controlling fans for your CPU and case fans. Might be able to control GPU fans but not sure.

What series card do you have? The Vcore may not be able to be unlocked. My GTS250 doesnt allow it but my GTX570s do. There is a way to over wright it but you have to flash bios.

Forgot, if its an EVGA card then get EVGA Precision and use that. Same thing as MSI Afterburner but oriented to the EVGA cards.

Plum's right. It depends on the card. My core voltage can't be accessed either with my 6870. Only certain cards allow that with Afterburner...and ironically they're MSI cards.

Its a ATi Radeon HD 5670. I want to OC it a little bit as well as my Intel i5-750 2.66GHz processor. Right now I want to get my GPU OC'ed before I mess with the CPU.

You can tweak the mem and core clocks without increasing voltage, just not as much as with a voltage increase. Stock clocks for my card are 900MHz Core, 1050MHz Memory. I have my card stable at 950MHz Core, 1175MHz Memory without a voltage increase, and I keep my fan at a constant 40% speed and I've never seen it go above 72C.

    Re: Fan Speed Control

Did a little research and my card cranks up to 840MHz Core/1040MHz Mem safely from its 775MHz Core/1000MHz Mem stock. Was giving me a 10-15 FPS boost in Atacama, research said it should produce 11-13% boost and its doing that. Temp never went over 73C. Looks good, I'll keep it there. I wont OC my processor until BF3 and only if I need to.

Nice. I checked the version history and the 5670 appears to never have been added. No big.

Ran Performance Test 7 and got a 5.8% boost in my GPU rating after OC. Trying to get Pro version of 3DMark Vantage but I havent gotten a good dl yet. Trying one now but doubting it. Too bad Pirat#eBay is down.

I'm trying out the new beta of Afterburner. 2.2.0 Beta 5. Doesnt appear to be much different than the 2.1.0 version. The pics show different settings but maybe my 570 doesnt allow it?

How do you get Speedfan to control your CPU's Fans? Does it work on stock heatsinks? And can increasing fan speeds damage anything?
