    ok having set-up issues

I recently upgraded my mobo and cpu. i have been unable to connect to yahoo or microsoft websites but most other websites work ok. i have also been unable to download adobe flash player. everytime i try it gets stuck at 12% and then says make sure your connected to the internet then retry. i am connected, im friggin surfin other sites.

then i noticed that under network local area connection status that IPv6 says no network access. could this be my prob? EDIT : nevermind this shouldnt have anything to do with it.

oh and knightwolf i kept my dns stuff as it was and i can ping and tracert yahoo and microsoft no lost packets and traces are completed. and my download still times out for the flash player. really getting frustrated.

EDIT - once again nevermind. just installed google chrome (which comes with a flash player) and it too cannot load the pages.

do you also flush your DNS settings?
    ipconfig /flushdns in cmd prompt

next thing i would make sure you have all your flash players installed.

    Re: ok having set-up issues

i cant load flash players lol. i go to adobe. and click and it downloads then starts install. gets to 12% and i get a a download timeout. and its says to check my connection to the internet which is garbage cause im surfing and im connected. there isnt an old one holding me back ive checked.

and yes ive flushed my dns. im thinking i really need to start over again. maybe just get a new hard drive and start fresh. whats the best way to wipe a hard drive with your os on it?

I've used this to wipe my HDDs and I've also used System Mechanic Drive Scrubber before. Both work great. System Mechanic is a 30 day trial and the other one is free.

I think until you have better internet, u're going to see weird issues pop up now and then. Hopefully u'll be able to remedy that eventually.

    Re: ok having set-up issues

ok i have now reinstalled windows 3 times, twice were clean installs on 2 seperate hard drives. Still i cannot access yahoo.com as well as an ever increasing list of sites. Some of which i need access to such as nfoservers.com where we have our dedicated. I also instead a stand alone ethernet card instead of using on board and that did not fix. Just trying to cover the different bases. Does anyone else have any clue as to what it might be? IM SERIOUSLY GETTING CLOSE TO FLIPPING OUT.
